The Freeman Brothers team are pleased to present their latest development
There are many innovations taking place in the funeral industry, from funeral announcements via social media to webcasting funeral services. With the internet and contemporary technologies offering different methods of continuing familiar traditions, one of the most popular newer developments in this industry is to facilitate donations to charity being made online. Keen to offer the highest level of service, Freeman Brothers has chosen to partner with MuchLoved, and operate an online platform for donations and funeral pages.
This service will be offered as standard for all funerals which include the administration of donations that are arranged as of 1 August 2018. The webpage for each funeral will be created by the Freeman Brothers team once funeral arrangements have been made, with the facility able to be handed over to the person responsible for the Deceased’s funeral arrangements once the basic page has been confirmed.
The primary function of this service is so that, if a charity has been chosen to be supported in memory of the Deceased, donation payments may now be made directly by the cardholder via the website. This means that customers remain in control of the payment, and payments can be made at any time, rather than during office opening hours – something which is increasingly important with family members and friends often choosing to live outside the UK, or word spreading to those unable to attend the funeral, but who would like to donate.
This development is an exciting one for Freeman Brothers, as Manager Abi Pattenden explains, “At Freeman Brothers we always listen to our client feedback and look to respond with new products. We have started recently started getting requests for online donations from the families we are serving and a slow but steady increase in the number of donors wishing to pay by card. We chose to partner with MuchLoved as we felt their platform was the best all-round option for our clients. The page can be kept simple or made very personal depending on requirement. We have a responsibility to ensure we use a provider with a proven track record. It also appeals to us that MuchLoved is a charity itself, so they are not seeking to profit from our offer of this service. We hope our clients find it useful and beneficial, and research shows donation values increase with an online page, and so we hope the many charities we receive generous donations for each year will also see the benefit. The MuchLoved platform allows us to see what has been donated for each charity so keep your eyes on our blog for announcements of what is raised.”
On Freeman Brothers partnering with MuchLoved, Richard Baker adds, “As the leading provider of bespoke Tribute, Funeral Announcement and Donation software in the UK, we were delighted to be given the opportunity to partner with Freeman Brothers. Our core ethos has always been to put the needs of bereaved families first and we could tell from our first meeting with the Freeman Brothers team that they shared this belief. We are very much looking forward to helping support Abi and the rest of her team as they seek to enhance their online services for their clients.”
